Hancock Steel is a leading fabrication facility based in Findlay, Ohio that specializes in crafting ornate architectural and miscellaneous steel fabrication. Originally founded in 2007 to support Charles Construction Services, this family business has slowly transitioned from general construction into steel fabrication. However, the competitive stigma from other contractors and a lack of business focus have limited growth opportunities for the highly skilled team.
After a change of ownership in 2021, Stewart Design partnered with Hancock Steel to create a unique identity for the new entity, distinguishing it from its previous association with Charles Construction Services and established competitors nationwide.
Stewart Design helped Hancock Steel develop a brand strategy that reflected its longstanding reputation for exceptional quality, craftsmanship, and unique capabilities united by a clear purpose and promise: “Done Right. First Time. Guaranteed. For us, fit is more than a priority: it's our promise. We guarantee your steel will bolt in perfectly the first time, or we will provide labor and materials to make it right at no additional cost. At Hancock, we stand behind our word.”
The new identity confidently showcases Hancock's "Perfect Fit Promise" with unabashed messaging to cut through the dense competitive landscape. Hancock Steel is marked by precision, organization, and strength. The four pieces of Hancock's new letterform come together to form a steel beam. Similarly, the "Perfect Fit Promise" mark mimics a bolt head, formed by six of the same pieces as Hancock's letterform.
